With literary inspirations apparent in so many of Van Cleef & Arpels’ jewelry collections, it’s no surprise to find the luxury house will be lead underwriter for the sixth annual Norman Mailer Center Benefit Gala on October 27 at the New York Public Library. The Norman Mailer Prize has been awarded to some of the world’s most acclaimed writers. This year’s recipients are Don DeLillo for Lifetime Achievement; Billy Collins for Distinguished Poetry; and Katrina vanden Heuvel for Magazine Publishing. Past recipients of the prize include Joyce Carol Oates and Maya Angelou. This will be Van Cleef & Arpels’ third consecutive year as sponsors of the gala. Proceeds go toward programs and fellowships for aspiring writers at The Norman Mailer Center and Writers Colony.
