An exclusive horology event that explores the intricacies of luxury Swiss watchmaking will take place at the Dubai International Financial Center from Oct. 18 to 22. Sponsored by Ahmed Seddiqi and Sons and the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve, this inaugural event is poised to become a major annual, in-depth look at the culture of the watch industry through a number of venues. Some of the industry’s most respected watchmakers will offer master classes and participate in a series of discussions, forums, and workshops. Included among the legendary independent watchmakers at his year’s exhibit are Bulgari, Bovet, Cabestan, De Bethune, Greubel Forsey, Hautlence, Laurent Ferrier, MB & F, H. Moser & Cie, Richard Mille, and Urwerk. Recent university graduates will be able to take part in an internship and mentorship program designed to help them as they begin careers in the industry. An auction will also be held as well as an exhibit of exclusive timepieces. The non-commercial fair aims to connect attendees with some of the world’s most renowned watch personalities, collectors, bloggers and brands.
