The unisex fragrance Freak Scarab is one of the latest creations from British company Illamasqua. It holds a definite exquisite and dark tone that is based on the storied history of Egyptian perfumes. Building on the success the company found with last year’s Freak Extrait de Parfum, Freak Scarab starts off with rich top notes of blood orange and Ylang Ylang. Its heart notes are centered around Egyptian Jasmine and Queen of the Night, and it finishes off with hints of plum and anise. While this scent is less masculine than the original Freak, Scarab is still suitable for the metropolitan man, and might be preferable for those looking for something a little less abrasive.
