Brief: 13.68-carat Bulgari diamond is star of auction
BY JORDAN CLARY
A signed Bulgari 13.68-carat brilliant cut diamond that is claw set above baguette cut diamond single stone shoulders is being called “the show stopping highlight” of the Dreweatts & Bloomsbury Auction Wednesday, March 26. A selection of diamonds and colored gemstones, including a 1960s sapphire and diamond ring, also from Bulgaris will be auctioned off. Much of the jewelry for the auction was “discovered” from private collections and estates across Europe. These luxury and period pieces made their way to Great Britain via consignments in Rome where regular jewelry valuations are held. Auctioneers Donnington Priory Saleroom in Newbury, Berkshire, will hold the auction.
