BY LESLIE JORDAN CLARY

Cartier’s new flagship boutique in Sidney, Australia received a royal launch with a VIP A-list dinner and exclusive showing of some of the late Grace Kelly’s exquisite diamond creations given to her by her husband Prince Rainier. Cartier has long been a favorite of Monaco’s royalty since 1920 when Prince Albert I first commissioned Cartier to become the royal family’s jewelers. Prince Albert II, current reigning monarch of Monaco and son of Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly, sanctioned the opening by loaning the Cartier creations to the Sydney boutique. The stunning pieces include a diamond necklace and bracelet, a poodle brooch and Kelly’s legendary engagement ring. This marked the first time the diamonds were on display in Australia.
