Chanel’s Fall–Winter 2014/15 Ready-to-Wear collection designed by Karl Lagerfeld debuted in Paris this week and includes a colorful selection of sparkling, beaded and bangled sneakers. The look Lagerfeld creates with both this show and the Spring–Summer Haute Couture incorporates comfort and elegance. Accessories include oversized pearl chokers, feathers and glittering backpacks. For the spring–summer silhouettes Lagerfeld chose corsets embroidered with gems or sequins and accentuated by short jackets and drop-waisted skirts. The innovative touch in both collections, however, pairs Chanel suits, including formal wear and wedding gowns, with matching sneakers. The tennis shoes were embroidered and jeweled to match the outfit, and according to an article about the Haute Couture in The Telegraph, the models “positively bounded up and down the steps leading to the vast catwalk.”
