Leading Italian publisher Marisilio has published In Praise of Hands, a 200-page book detailing the creative process behind Van Cleef & Arpels. Employing more than a hundred photographs and nine videos, the volume follows the French jewelry house’s techniques from concept to polished piece. When the book starts to feel tacky in its unabashed enthusiasm, it’s nice to remember the photos were provided by Francesco Cito, honored with the first prize in the 1996 World Press Photo Contest. In Praise of Hands is available in both hardcover and e-book form.
