Mikimoto’s newest collection, Four Seasons, celebrates the cycles of nature with nine handcrafted pieces inspired by the moods and colors of spring, summer, fall and winter. From scintillating diamonds and cool blue sapphires for winter to fiery colored gems for summer, the gemstones are used as contrasts and to showcase Mikimoto’s distinctive pearls. Both White South Sea and Golden South Sea cultured pearls are used in the collection. The winter series uses Baroque White South Sea cultured pearls specifically chosen for their resemblance to a winter glacier. Some of the designs were created to suggest transitions from one season to another. For instance, the autumn series makes use of spessartite garnets and yellow and orange sapphires to suggest fall foliage. Four Seasons is available worldwide in Mikimoto boutiques.
