Cartier, one of 16 brands represented at this year’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), presented its L’Heure Envoûtée de Cartier Collection at the annual show. Comprised of bejeweled watches that prize decoration over function, the series marries Cartier’s watchmaking expertise with its tradition of artistic gem setting. Best representing the dramatic spirit of the collection, the Cartier Swan watch is designed with rhodium-plated 18-carat white gold, briolette-cut diamonds, natural pearls, and an emerald eye. The mechanisms are hidden behind the bird’s plumage, making the watch component an afterthought.
